What is a credit card service fee?

A credit card service fee is a percentage that is applied to all credit card purchases to offset the card issuer operating costs associated with processing credit card transactions.

What are the alternative payment methods to avoid the service fee?

Electronic checks (ACH e-checks) from your savings or checking account, paper checks, money orders or cashier checks and cash.

If a debit card is used will the service fee be applied?

Yes, debit and credit cards will have a service fee applied at the time of purchase.

If I use an international credit card does the service fee apply?

Yes, the service fee for international card payments will apply at a higher rate than a domestic credit card. If your credit card is affiliated with a US bank, then the card is considered domestic.

Do other colleges pass the service fee to their credit card user?

Yes, this is a common practice and many of the surrounding colleges have already implemented the service fee.

Why is the 黑料社区 bookstores and Chef Apprentice excluded from this?

The bookstores and the Chef Apprentice place a margin on their cost of goods. That margin is built in to cover expenses such as credit card service fees.

Why is 黑料社区 making this change?

黑料社区 has paid the service fee for years for our students/customers. This has an impact on the overall operational budget, which forces increases in tuition costs for students.

Will there be a minimum service fee charge?

Yes, the minimum service fee for transactions is $3.00 or less.

What 黑料社区 services will not incur a credit card service fee?

The 黑料社区 Foundation, bookstores, and the Chef Apprentice, dental clinic and massage therapy.


Do I received the service fee back if a refund is due to me?

No, the service fee is not refundable听
