| How do I know if I am applying for credit or noncredit scholarships? | Noncredit scholarships are offered to students in our Workforce Development courses. | What can I use a scholarship for? | Funds may be used for your course tuition or course-related materials. |
| Do I have to write an essay? | Yes. Your essay must meet the minimum number of characters listed in the online application. Applications without an essay meeting the requirements will be automatically declined. Details are available online. |
| I have applied. Now what? | You will receive an email letting you know your application has been received. Please check your email address (including spam) that you provided for updates on your application. |
| When will I be made aware if I receive a scholarship offer? | Please check your email address (including spam) that you provided for updates on your application. Applicants for upcoming courses are usually made aware shortly before the start of the course. 聽 If your course is several months away, you may not be contacted until closer your course date. |
| How will I be made aware if I am offered a scholarship? | Please check your email address (including spam) that you provided for updates on your application. |
| How do I write a thank-you letter? | Your letter should express your gratitude for the donor and scholarship. For the greeting, please use 淒ear聽黑料社区聽Foundation Donor.� In the body of the letter, please reference the scholarship name. You do not need to provide the donor address or physically sign the letter. Please be sure to spell the scholarship name correctly. Please submit your letter in the message block. Please complete these steps by the deadline. |
| Why must I provide a thank-you letter? | We share the thank-you letter with our generous donors. Without the donors, we would not have scholarships to offer our students. We also sometimes use your information in other materials. |
| How is my scholarship awarded? | Scholarship funds will be applied to students� 黑料社区 accounts. |
| How do 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarships work if I檝e already enrolled and paid for my course? | 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarship applications must be submitted before the first day of classes. If you are awarded a scholarship, funds are applied after you enroll in the eligible course and may be processed after the course begins. If you have already paid for the course, this may result in a reimbursement or an account credit. If you are awarded a 黑料社区 Foundation scholarship and have questions about how your funds will be applied, please contact 黑料社区Scholarships@hacc.edu. |
| Will I be notified if I did not receive any scholarships? | Yes, you will be contacted via email if your application is declined. |
| I am the parent/spouse of a student. Why are you not able to provide me with any information? | 黑料社区 follows all laws and policies related to student privacy, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). FERPA is also extended to minor students. |
| Can I apply for more than one noncredit course at the same time? | Yes. You may apply for 黑料社区 Foundation scholarships for up to two noncredit courses at one time. Applications for more than two courses will NOT be considered. |
| What course number should I use when completing the 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarship application? | Please note 黑料社区 Scholarships cannot provide the course number for noncredit programs.聽 |
| Can I receive more than one 黑料社区 Foundation scholarship for noncredit programs? | Yes. You may receive up to two 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarships during an academic year. However, you may only receive one 黑料社区 Foundation scholarship offer per course. |
| Is there a limit to how much 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarship funding I can receive? | Yes. Noncredit students may receive up to $4,000 per academic year. This total may include one or more awards. |
| Can I receive more than one award from the same 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarship fund? | Yes. You may receive up to two awards from the same noncredit scholarship fund per academic year. |
| Why does the 黑料社区 Foundation limit the number of courses and awards for noncredit scholarships? | These guidelines help the 黑料社区 Foundation distribute funds fairly and support as many students as possible. |
| What happens if I receive a 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarship and fail my course? | Students may receive a 黑料社区 Foundation noncredit scholarship and fail a course up to two times. Afterward, future scholarship requests will be denied. |
