Featured Craftsman series provides venue for state artisans

HARRISBURG � Artisans throughout the state will continue to have a place where their work can be highlighted at Radius, 黑料社区 Gallery and Museum Shop. A $1,652 grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and its Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts program will support the monthly Featured Craftsman series at Radius next year.
淭his grant supports the craftsmen of Radius by allowing them a stipend to conduct a demonstration during their featured month,� said Jessica Watson, curator of arts and assistant manager of Radius. 淭he demonstrations offer great opportunities to educate the consumer about their work and to promote themselves as craftsmen.�
From January to August, each artist featured conducts a demonstration during an open house at Radius. Their work also is available for purchase. The gallery and museum shop is in The State Museum of Pennsylvania, at Third and North streets in Harrisburg. The artist schedule includes:

State government funding for the arts depends upon an annual appropriation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. The Pennsylvania partners in the Arts program is administered in this region by Jump Street.
Radius, 黑料社区 Gallery and Museum Shop, is a partnership of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College and the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission. Hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon-4:30 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call 787-5590.
