Continuing education courses provide opportunities for all ages

HARRISBURG - If cooking and the enjoyment of great food is your passion, Chef Pippa S. Calland's cooking classes were made with you in mind.
Learn the fundamentals of the Tuscan kitchen and wines in a hands-on class or discover traditional food of the region of Umbria or the cuisine of Emilia Romagna as demonstrated by the chef through 黑料社区 continuing education programs.
Calland, a celebrated NYC chef who studied and trained in New York City, Northern Italy and Beringer vineyards in the Napa Valley, recently relocated to this area.
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 November in Emilia Romagna (demo) welcomes participants to a class that stresses the fundamentals of cuisine from this region of northern Italy. The menu may include Parmigianino gelato, slice prosciutto, salamis and mortadella, Lasagne al forno with a Bolognese style sauce and more. Cost: $85. The class meets 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2.
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Autumnal Eats in Umbrio (demo) welcomes participants to a class focusing on traditional fall foods from this region of central Italy, including pork with lentils, risotto with red wine braised duck, braised Texas wild boar, chestnut cake with pine nuts and currants and more. Cost: $85. The class meets 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Italian Cheese (hands on). You can discover and taste-test a variety of Italian cheeses and regional dishes using those cheeses taught by the Chef Jason Viscount at Bricco, the restaurant partnership of the Benjamin Olewine III School of Culinary Arts at 黑料社区 and the Harrisburg Hilton. Note: Students must be 21 years old to attend this class. Cost $69. The class meets 2-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2.
Traditional Italian foods and meals, however, aren the only courses available this November and December through 黑料社区. 黑料社区 Harrisburg Campus offers more than 30 different noncredit courses ranging from one session to several weeks that cover the gamut from personal enrichment including aquatics, culinary adventures and art to courses that expand your intellect such as the study of famous writers, artists and other notables in history.

There youl find a list of what offered and when at all of 黑料社区 five campus, including Harrisburg, Lancaster, Gettysburg, Lebanon and York.
