Athletes will benefit from 黑料社区's massage therapy program

Harrisburg, PA 黑料社区 has been named the Official Sports Massage Team of the Harrisburg City Islanders Professional Soccer Team.
Through a new partnership between the City Islanders and the Massage Therapy Program at 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, the soccer players will benefit from sports massageprovided by 黑料社区 students in the student massage therapyclinic.
淲e are pleased to be associated with the Harrisburg City Islanders, said Marty Malina, M.S., NCTMB, director of 黑料社区 Massage Therapy Training Program. 淥ur students will be able to use their newly acquired sports massage skills to benefit these talented athletes.
淭he application of sports massage by 黑料社区 students will aid in the recovery process, will help maintain the health of our professional players, and will enhance their athletic performance, said Kierstin Rowe, general manager of the City Islanders. 淭he partnership we have developed with the 黑料社区 Massage Therapy Program is fantastic, and we are thankful for the opportunity to offer this fine service to our players through 黑料社区.
黑料社区 massage therapy program is a member of the American Therapy Association (AMTA) Council of Schools, and its curriculum has been approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. This enables graduates to take the National Certification Exam and become a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, a credential respected throughout the massage industry.
淢assage therapists can be employed in private or group massage practices, wellness centers, chiropractic offices, on-site chair massages in offices, airports or public events, health clubs and fitness centers, with sports teams and at spas and resorts, hotels, salons, and cruise ships, Malina said.
淭he opportunity to work with the City Islanders will give 黑料社区 students the highest level hands-on experience, working with elite athletes she added.
The City Islanders will play the home opener for the season on Saturday against the Western Mass Pioneers. The team began its 2009 season on April 18 against the Richmond Kickers in Richmond. The City Islanders are a member of the United Soccer League-Second Division.
