Get It Started shows the many options of higher ed. for local residents

GETTYSBURG � Find out about the options and flexibility at 黑料社区 during the Get It Started open house from 6-8聽p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Gettysburg Campus of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, 731 Old Harrisburg Road.
Prospective students can speak with faculty and current students about attending 黑料社区, learn about career options and how credits transfer to four-year schools. They can also find out about programs that lead directly to the work force.
淲e host open houses like this one to show local residents that they have a lot of options when it comes to their college education,� said Heather Watt, coordinator of admissions and recruitment. 淚t a valuable opportunity to speak with our qualified faculty and current students about programs, see the facility and labs first-hand and have their questions answered.�
Along with learning about programs, visitors can check out the types of internship opportunities available and how 黑料社区 can help students conduct a job search. They can find out about the enrollment process, the ease of transferring credits to a four-year school, financial aid and scholarship information.
In addition, visitors can find out about 黑料社区 English as a Second Language and General Education Development programs offered in Spanish.
For a well-rounded college experience, prospective students can investigate student life, clubs and activities offered at the local campus.

The public is also invited to an information session beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center, 2463 Loop Road in Chambersburg, where 黑料社区 offers its mechatronics and other technical programs.
New programs for spring 2010 at FCCTC include diploma, certificate and some degree programs in HVAC, electrical technology and technology studies. Core business courses in accounting, business law and computer software for business also have been added. Classes begin at FCCTC on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
