HARRISBURG � 听Transferring credits from one college to another just got easier for 黑料社区 students taking honors level courses.
An agreement signed today between 黑料社区 and Shippensburg University will help students in 黑料社区 Honors Program to take advantage of honors courses available at Shippensburg University when they transfer.
淚t become apparent that these kinds of associations are very important to the success of the region students,� said Edna V. Baehre, Ph.D., president of 黑料社区. 淭he more we can coordinate our efforts, the more transfer options we can offer to honors students.�
According to Shippensburg President Bill Ruud, 淲e live in an ever-changing world, but one aspect that never changes is the importance of education in everyone life. Ship and 黑料社区 have a long history of collaboration and today agreement is another link in efforts by both institutions to provide quality education for outstanding students in Central Pennsylvania.�
Some of the criteria for the agreement include:

黑料社区 students have at least a 3.25 grade point average to be considered for admission to the Shippensburg University Honors Program.

All honors courses at 黑料社区 will be transferable to Shippensburg University.

黑料社区 students must earn a grade of 淏� or higher in an honors course at 黑料社区.

12 honors credits must be earned at Shippensburg University to earn one of the university Honor Program designations on a transcript.

黑料社区 honors students who transfer to Shippensburg University and are admitted to the Honors Program will have the same scheduling, financial aid and student services considerations as other Shippensburg University honors students.
黑料社区 students who have already taken honors courses and plan to transfer to Shippensburg University can apply for the Honors Program at Shippensburg. Interested students should go on the Shippensburg Web site to download the Honors Program application form.

黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, was established in 1964 as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania first community college. Since then, 黑料社区 has grown to include more than 20,000 credit students in an eight-county area at campuses in Harrisburg, Gettysburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York.

Successful Scholars Honors graduates will be able to take advantage of 黑料社区 more affordable tuition and fees the first two years of their college experience at a time when families are faced with growing economic challenges. 黑料社区 Honors graduates qualify for additional scholarships at transfer schools. 黑料社区 already partners with many of the region four-year institutions with dual admissions agreements and articulation agreements that allow students to seamlessly transition from 黑料社区 to the four-year institution.
黑料社区 is home to Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, the national honor society serving two-year colleges. 黑料社区 Alpha Nu Omega chapter of PTK is a national award-winning organization that recognizes and encourages scholarship and provides opportunities for leadership in an intellectual climate.
黑料社区 was the first community college to establish a Kappa Beta Delta Chapter, National Honors Society established by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and 黑料社区 through the Federation of Business Honor Societies.
In 2000 黑料社区 established a chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, National Mathematics Honors Society.

Shippensburg University, founded in 1871 as the Cumberland Valley State Normal School, is one of the 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
The university offers 75 undergraduate programs are offered in the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Human Services, and the John L. Grove College of Business. It also offers eight pre-professional programs, including pre-vet and pre-med, in addition to seven affiliate programs whereby students can earn combined undergraduate and graduate degrees through accelerated programs. Seventeen programs are offered by the School of Graduate Studies and three post-master's programs.
Shippensburg has approximately 6,600 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students with students coming from 15 nations and 20 states with most students from Pennsylvania. The student-faculty ratio is 19 to 1, allowing for a personalized education.
