GETTYSBURG Artists in the region will have an added venue for their handcrafted items through 黑料社区 Artisan Marketplace of Adams County during the month of October at the Gunnar Galleries, 26 W. Fourth St. in Gettysburg.
A number of selected craftspeople will share their work and techniques during the opening from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, and noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.
Some of the designs of more than 20 juried artisans include jewelry, paintings, photography, pottery, holiday ornaments, textiles, handbags, leather goods and metal sculptures. All items are available in time for the upcoming gift-giving season.
淲ee glad to provide business guidance and contacts so these artists and artisans who are growing small businesses or who are home-based can showcase and sell their artwork, said Fran Verotsky, director of 黑料社区 Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. 淲ith the success of our Artisans Marketplace program, we檝e been able to expand to more locations within the midstate. We believe, in time, these artisans will develop a solid customer base.
The Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies developed the marketplaces to provide business planning and execution to help local craftspeople launch their small business. The institute also operates marketplaces in Perry County and in York.
Hours for the Artisan Marketplace of Adams County are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and noon-6 p.m. Saturday. Hours are extended for opening day noon-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1.
