Public invited to attend free event at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17

HARRISBURG � The philosophical question 淲hat is education?� will be discussed by a 黑料社区 panel at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, on the second floor of McCormick Library on 黑料社区-Harrisburg Campus.
Charles Comer, 黑料社区 professor of philosophy, will moderate the free, public program offered by the 黑料社区 Philosophy Forum. Panel members will include 黑料社区 President John J. 淪ki� Sygielski; Trum Simmons, senior professor of English; Kerry Tombs-Harling, dean of curriculum planning and assessment; and Amelia Rundle, associate editor of The Fourth Estate, the campus newspaper.
淓ducation is at the core of who we are and what we do,� Comer said. 淗owever, this question is not easily answered and deserves thought and discussion. Why we educate and whom we educate are, perhaps central. What, for example, constitutes educational success? Or, what should education aim be?�
The panelists will consider these questions and more. Participants are invited to come with questions, thoughts or just to observe. The free, public event is sponsored by the 黑料社区 Philosophy Forum. Refreshments will be served.
