Exhibit opens Jan. 9 with artist reception on Feb. 27, 2013

GETTYSBURG A new art exhibit, 淏attlefield Impressions, opens Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013,聽聽in the gallery hallway of 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus. The exhibit features the work of local artist, Freya Qually. It is part of the year events in recognizing the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Civil War Battle.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Qually is primarily an oil painter who also occasionally works in pastel and charcoal. She paints landscapes and still-lifes, and has created charcoal portraits that have been used in publications for The Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College for more than 20 years. She has exhibited her work across the United States and in venues such as The Art Association of Harrisburg and The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, Md.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Qually founded the studio art department at Penn State Mont Alto. She teaches studio art and received the Martha Fisher Award for Excellence in Teaching for the campus in 2005. Qually holds a master degree in fine arts from American University, Washington, D.C., and a bachelor degree from Gettysburg College.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An artist reception will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, from 2:30- 3:30 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.聽黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus is located at 731 Old Harrisburg Road.
