Agreement eases transition for local students seeking to pursue 4-year education

GETTYSBURG � An agreement between the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, gives students a pathway to earn a bachelor degree.
Officials from the two institutions signed the pact during a ceremony Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Robert C. Hoffman Community Room of 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus.
淭his new agreement offers our students the opportunity to earn a bachelor degree by seamlessly transferring credits to UMUC,� said 黑料社区 President John J. 淪ki� Sygielski, Ed.D. 淭he agreement also includes a reverse transfer option that allows 黑料社区 students who have not completed an associate degree to transfer UMUC credits back to 黑料社区 toward a two-year degree.�
Sygielski continued, 満诹仙缜� has transfer agreements with more than 80 four-year institutions, and we welcome the opportunity to provide additional options for our students,� he said.

Aldridge. 淭hese alliances help students make a smooth transition to a four-year degree program and take another step toward a brighter and more promising future.�
UMUC has a team dedicated to supporting students who transfer from community colleges in Maryland and nationwide. Since establishing its first alliance agreement in 1996, the university has signed agreements with all 16 of Maryland community colleges. University leaders estimate that more than half of UMUC enrolled students transfer from two-year schools.
