黑料社区 Foundation recognizes donors for their support of 黑料社区's College-in-the-High School program

March 25, 2014

HARRISBURG, Pa. The 黑料社区 Foundation Board of Directors and 黑料社区 President John J. 淪ki Sygielski, Ed.D., recognized 2013-14 Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) contributors during the Board meeting on March 17, 2014, at the Shumaker Public Safety Center on 黑料社区 Harrisburg Campus.

The 2013-14 contributors are Eichelbergers, Inc.; Fulton Bank; Hershey Entertainment & Resorts; Overnight Office, Inc.; Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc.; UGI Utilities, Inc., and Waste Management. Together, these companies contributed $34,500 to the 黑料社区 Foundation through the EITC program.

EITC funds support 黑料社区 College-in-the-High-School (CHS) program, which enrolls qualified high school students from more than 40 Central Pennsylvania school districts in college-level courses at their high school or technical school during the regular school day.

The EITC program, which is administered by the state's Department of Community and Economic Development, provides approved businesses with a 75-percent tax credit for donations to eligible nonprofit organizations. The tax credit increases to 90 percent if the company commits to the same donations for two consecutive years. A business paying taxes in Pennsylvania can receive up to $750,000 in tax credits annually through the EITC program.

The 黑料社区 Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization that supports 黑料社区, is eligible for EITC contributions as an educational improvement organization.
