听 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus Launches Mechatronic Certificate Program Individuals passionate for mechanical and electrical engineering can now complete a two-semester program

黑料社区 is expanding its programs at the Gettysburg Campus. Starting in fall 2015, students can earn a certificate in mechatronics in only two terms.
听
The Mechatronics Certificate Program is a combination of mechanical and electrical engineering, which prepares students for jobs in installation, repair or maintenance of electrical, mechanical and/or computerized equipment.
听
The classes at 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus will offer the required hands-on experience needed by technicians working on automated equipment with mechanical, electrical, fluid and control systems.
听
淎dams County and Hanover are strong manufacturing communities with manufacturing making up approximately 19 percent of the workforce. By offering this program at the Gettysburg Campus, we are providing new opportunities for the area, said Shannon Harvey, vice president of 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus.
听
The program will complement 黑料社区 Introduction to Manufacturing Program, which is a partnership between the local high schools and the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce. It designed to educate high school seniors about today manufacturing environment and career options in manufacturing. High school students who complete the Introduction to Manufacturing program can enter the Mechatronics Certificate Program with three elective credits.

听 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus Hosts Mario Kart Gaming Tournament Fundraiser
听
The Student Government Association at 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus will host the Mario Kart Classic, a gaming tournament, on April 17, 2015, to benefit the College Gettysburg Campus Emergency Assistance Fund.
听
The tournament, which is open to the public, will take place from 6-9 p.m. in the Robert C. Hoffman Community Room at the campus. The cost to participate is $5 for 黑料社区 students and $10 for guests. Participants must be at least 15 years old to enter the tournament. To pre-register, visit the Gettysburg Campus Welcome Center during regular business hours before April 15 at 4 p.m. Participants also can pay at the event.
听
Participants will play in an elimination-style tournament, with prizes for the first-, second- and third-place winners. First place wins a prize valued at $100, second place wins a prize valued at $50 and third place is valued at $25.
听
The Gettysburg Campus Emergency Assistance Fund is a 黑料社区 Foundation fund that provides emergency financial assistance to students enrolled at the Gettysburg Campus who could be forced to discontinue their education if not provided with financial help.
听

听 黑料社区 Theatre for Young People Presents And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank
听 黑料社区's Theatre for Young People presents 淎nd Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank, on April 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of 黑料社区.
听
淎nd Then They Came for Me is written by James Still, and is a winner of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education Distinguished Plays Award. Theatre for Young People performance is directed by Brenda Eppley, 黑料社区 theatre program lead.
听
淎nd Then They Came for Me is a multimedia play that combines videotaped interviews of Holocaust survivors Ed Silverberg and Eva Schloss with live actors recreating scenes from their lives during World War II. Silverberg was Anne Frank first boyfriend, and Frank wrote about him in the beginning of her now-famous diary. Schloss was the same age as Frank and lived in the same apartment building in Amsterdam. Her family went into hiding the same day as the Frank family. With oral history, dramatic action, direct address and remembrance, the ensemble-driven 淎nd Then They Came for Me breaks new ground and is acclaimed by audiences and critics in world-wide productions.听

Since 1989, Theatre for Young People has provided an affordable venue for area young people to celebrate and gain exposure to theatre. The cast will spend the week leading up to the April 18 matinee performing for elementary school groups in a theatre outreach.

听 Works by 黑料社区 Art Students Featured in Honors Exhibit
听 The annual honors art exhibit at 黑料社区 featuring the best work of 黑料社区 art students, will be on display at the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on 黑料社区 Harrisburg Campus during two student art shows in April and May 2015.
听
The first student show is on display now through April 21, and will feature works of photography, computer art and digital photo imaging, 3D design, 2D design, sculpture, illustration and printmaking. A reception for this exhibit will take place on April 16 from 5:30-7 p.m.
听
The second student show will be exhibited April 27-May 8, and will highlight graphic design, drawing, painting, glass, ceramics and jewelry work. A reception will be held on April 30 from 5:30-7 p.m.
听
Students submitted hundreds of works for consideration in the show. Chosen works were juried and selected by 黑料社区 art faculty. Awards will be presented to the student artists during both receptions.
听
黑料社区 has an active art department with many courses to choose from, including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, glass blowing, jewelry and typography. In some art programs such as fine arts, students earn an associate degree that can be transferred to a four-year college or university. In other programs like photography or graphic design, students earn an associate degree that allows them to enter the workforce after graduation from 黑料社区.
听
All Rose Lehrman Art Gallery events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 5-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, or by appointment.
