Edward Edris, 黑料社区 alumnus and now a first-year medical student at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, is studying to become an osteopathic physician. He was the first member of his family to pursue higher education. 淭his [黑料社区] was my first step on a journey that took me to bigger and greater things than I ever imagined. 黑料社区 was a place where I could begin my education as a working adult who was going through a career change.�
听
黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, is the first step for many students � from high school students to adults with children � who are ready to make a change. On June 9, 2015, from 1-7 p.m., 黑料社区 five campuses听in Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York invite you to attend the , take the first step and enroll in 黑料社区 fall classes. In one day, you can complete the entire process of enrolling or take the first steps. To complete the entire process, allow four to five hours and arrive by 2 p.m. If you have previously earned college credit(s), please bring your college transcript(s) to the event. You can:

Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Many students mistakenly think they听won't听be听eligible听for听financial aid,听but most do qualify for some type of educational funding.
Learn about the approximately 250 scholarships supported by the 黑料社区 Foundation
Complete a placement test to determine the level of classes that will best meet your needs in English and math
Attend a new student orientation to learn about 黑料社区 services such as tutoring and counseling
Meet with academic advisors to choose classes that can be taken online and/or in the classroom

Additionally, thanks to the听黑料社区 Foundation, future students may enter a drawing to win $1,000 for 黑料社区 tuition at the One-Stop enrollment event at each campus. The winners of the tuition giveaways can use the free money for 黑料社区 tuition, books and fees during the fall 2015 and/or spring 2016 terms.

Following his graduation from 黑料社区, Edris continued on to Dickinson College, where he was accepted with scholarships from Phi Theta Kappa and earned his bachelor degree in neuroscience.

黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, is inviting individuals to attend Trades Career Night to learn the options for expanding their skills or earning an associate degree, certificate or diploma in the trades, including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, automotive and mechatronics. The Trades Career Night will be held at 黑料社区 York Campus on June 17, 2015, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Future students should visit by June 16, 2015 to register.
听
黑料社区 offers classes in the evenings and on Saturdays and the ability to earn a diploma in the trades in three terms. Future students can attend Trades Career Night to learn more. During the event, attendees will:
Watch demonstrations of computer simulation programs and soldering copper tubing
Tour the lab facilities to see the equipment students use to gain hands-on experience
Learn options for financial aid and scholarships
Meet faculty with more than 20 years of experience in HVAC installation and servicing
Learn how to enroll and register for classes

听 Steelcase Active Learning Grant Awarded to 黑料社区 黑料社区 among two community colleges nationwide tapped for the two-year project
听
黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, is one of two community colleges nationwide to receive an from Steelcase Education. The initiative empowers educators to implement active learning strategies by leveraging classroom space.
听
黑料社区 is among 12 schools and universities out of 540 applications that were chosen for their unique approaches to active learning.
听
This two-year grant, valued at $50,000 for furnishing and installation, will allow 黑料社区 to outfit a classroom at its Lancaster Campus for the fall 2015 term with active learning furniture that allows students to easily rearrange the classroom.
听
This grant will allow 黑料社区 Lancaster Campus to model a classroom design that complements innovative teaching practices encouraged by faculty participation in 黑料社区 Centers for Innovation and Teaching Excellence (CITE) 听workshops and innovative online and blended learning training courses. 黑料社区 Lancaster Campus has the oldest and one of the most active CITEs of 黑料社区 five campuses. CITEs provide 黑料社区 with innovative faculty training needed to achieve student success through active and collaborative learning.
听
As part of this grant, 黑料社区 will create eight, three-to-five-minute QuickTip videos demonstrating best practices in collaborative classrooms. The College will publish these videos on its YouTube channel for both internal and external audiences.

More than 900 students at 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, completed their associate degrees, certificates or diplomas during the spring 2015 term. The graduates were celebrated during 黑料社区 Commencement ceremony, held May 16, 2015, at the Giant Center in Hershey.

24 Students Graduate from the Nursing Program at 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus Students celebrated in pinning ceremony
听 Associate degree graduates in 黑料社区 registered nursing program were honored with their nursing pins during a ceremony on May 7, 2015, at the Gettysburg Campus of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College.
听
The 24 graduates successfully completed their clinical nursing education, which qualifies them to take licensure exams to become registered nurses (RNs).
听

Adams County Resident Joins 黑料社区 Foundation Board
Melissa 淢issy� Shupe of Aspers, Adams County, is the newest member of the 黑料社区 Foundation Board.
听
Shupe, a 2014 黑料社区 alumnus, will serve through June 30, 2018. She will represent the Gettysburg Campus on the 黑料社区 Foundation Board. At 黑料社区, she earned two associate degrees � one in 2006 and one in 2014.
听
Missy is a health coach and medical assistant for Wellspan. In her leadership, volunteer and fundraising roles, she has served as chairperson for Citizens Committee of Tyrone Township, United Way volunteer, Adams County Children Advocacy Center volunteer, task force member for tobacco cessation in Adams County and an annual volunteer for the Pink Out to help local women with breast cancer in Hanover.
听
