黑料社区 Named 淩ising Star for Innovative Student Success and Retention 黑料社区

黑料社区 is one of three two- and four-year colleges awarded a national Rising Star for improved outcomes for high risk students as part of the 2015 Starfish 360 Awards Program by Hobsons, an educational solutions company.

黑料社区, which is in the first year of Starfish implementation, received the recognition for best practices in achieving the College focus on student success, specifically early alert and active outreach. Winners of the Rising Star award receive $500.

黑料社区 application for the award included a video illustrating how Starfish has influenced the student success picture at the institution:
  • The academic monitoring process has been improved, resulting in higher levels of satisfaction and participation among faculty
  • Conversations are focused around student success at all levels of the institution
  • Access to support services for students has been improved
  • Efficiency has been improved as student information is more centrally located via Starfish

Hobsons Starfish helps colleges and universities scale student success programs so more students can make informed academic and life choices to achieve their goals and finish what they start. The platform identifies at-risk students, pinpoints areas of concern, connects students with valuable services and helps assess which services and interventions will keep students on track.

淧ull Left Not Always Right: Emerging Contemporary Artists in China highlights young Chinese artists whose works break away from traditional forms of Chinese art. The goal of the joint exhibit is to examine art through a new perspective. The title itself, 淧ull Left, may instill a notion of left versus right or liberal versus conservative politics in our American culture. However, in China, 渓eft is associated with new ways of thinking.

The U.S. tour was organized by Taikang Space, a nonprofit organization in Beijing, China, devoted to the research and promotion of contemporary Chinese art. The tour comes to Central Pennsylvania through a partnership between 黑料社区 and Dickinson College, which will host selected works from the 淧ull Left exhibit in its Trout Gallery from Oct. 8 through Dec. 12, 2015.

A lecture by Tang Xin, will be given on Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the International Room of the Bruce E. Additional receptions will be held from 6-8 p.m. at both galleries on Oct. 16 during Harrisburg 3rd in the Burg event.
