'Related/Unrelated' Exhibit Featured at 's Lancaster Campus

The works of Milt Friedly will be on display in Related/Unrelated, an exhibit using remnants of outdated technology to evoke questions about the human experience, in the Art Space in the East Building of the Lancaster Campus of , Central Pennsylvania Community College.

The exhibit runs from Aug. 27 to Oct. 21, 2015. A reception for the artist will be held Sept. 9 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

I am making commentary on our desire to be free of wire to transmit communications and become self-sufficient and independent, said Friedly of the exhibit. Despite new technologies, we remain attached to the grid a cohesiveness that binds us together.

Friedly, a professor of art at Elizabethtown College for 28 years, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, and a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming.

Friedly has received recognition locally, regionally and nationally for his work in ceramics, mixed media, printmaking and sculpture. He is the director for the , a traveling exhibition of art and poetry, and he directs the in Columbia, Pennsylvania.

Art Space gallery hours for the exhibit are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Both the exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public.
