黑料社区 Offers One-Stop Shop to Enroll

HARRISBURG, Pa. 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, is simplifying the enrollment process for current and future students who are adding 済oing to college to their new year resolution list. On Jan. 4, 2017, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., current and future students can visit the Welcome Center at any of 黑料社区 five campuses to complete necessary steps to enroll for the spring term.

Staff will be on hand to assist students with completing their application, taking the placement test, filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, meeting an advisor and registering for classes. 听

Students will also have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win an iPad.

ODC/Dance Comes to Live at Rose Lehrman

HARRISBURG, Pa. will bring its athletic, passionate performances of 淒ead Reckoning and 淭riangulating Euclid to the stage at Live at Rose Lehrman on Jan. 25, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College.

淒ead Reckoning, a contemporary performance portraying humanity in the throes of upheaval and its impact on the surrounding world, is choreographed by KT Nelson, co-artistic director. It was inspired by her sabbatical in Death Valley and features original music from cellist Joan Jeanrenaud.

淭riangulating Euclid, a performance inspired by the original edition of 淓uclid Elements, an influential work in the history of mathematics, was developed by Brenda Way, KT Nelson and Kate Weare. This highly physical, insightful and emotive work moves from the formal elegance of geometry to its human implications.

The public is invited to attend a pre-performance talk with the artistic directors at 6:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center.

ODC/Dance has been named the 淏est Dance Company in the San Francisco Bay Guardian 淏est of the Bay for many years. The group has performed for more than a million people in 32 states and 11 countries with standing room only performances in Europe, Russia and Asia.

黑料社区 Offers New Professionally YOURS Series in Spring 2017

HARRISBURG, Pa. The Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, is offering a new training series called Professionally YOURS, in the spring 2017 term at 黑料社区 five campuses. Starting on Feb. 1, 2017, local adult learners can take a variety of courses without the need to obtain college credit.

The series will focus on personal and business development areas such as:
  • Conflict resolution
  • Customer service essentials
  • Fundamentals of supervision
  • Leading effective meetings
  • Managing a diverse workforce
  • Persuasion tools听

The high quality, accessible educational opportunities are in response to requests from the business community and 黑料社区 strategic analysis of the high-demand occupational needs.

黑料社区 Holds Police Academy Graduations

The听Sen. Jeffrey E. Piccola Law Enforcement Complex of the听Sen. John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center (PSC)听at 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, recently celebrated the graduation of 35 cadets in its 110th听municipal police academy and 14 cadets in its 17th part-time municipal police academy.

黑料社区 Police Academy is the second largest in Pennsylvania with two 20-week full-time and one 12-month part-time basic training courses mandated for all Pennsylvania municipal police officers.

黑料社区 Students Participate in National Math Competition

HARRISBURG, Pa. Students from 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, participated in the first half of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year College (AMATYC) student math league competition on Nov. 4, 2016. Over 8,000 math students from more than 165 community colleges nationwide compete annually. Of the 20 黑料社区 students who participated, the top-scoring students were Gideon Buckwalter from 黑料社区 Harrisburg Campus and Cody Lutz from 黑料社区 York Campus. The second half of the AMATYC competition will take place in March 2017.
