黑料社区 Board of Trustees Adopts Balanced 2017-18 Budget

April 5, 2017
HARRISBURG, Pa. The Board of Trustees of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, adopted a $138-million balanced 2017-18 budget on April 5, 2017.

The budget includes a 1-percent DECREASE in tuition for in-state credit students and a 2-percent salary increase for employees.

淭he entire College community is keenly aware of the financial difficulties many of our students experience while attending 黑料社区. To that end, the Board of Trustees took a historic step today and voted to DECREASE tuition for the 2017-18 academic year. Even though it is a modest reduction, we believe it sends a message that 黑料社区 is serious about containing costs and passing those savings on to our students to ease their financial burden, said 黑料社区 President John J. 淪ki Sygielski, Ed.D.

The tuition DECREASE is effective immediately for in-state students enrolling for the fall term that begins Aug. 28, 2017, at 黑料社区 campuses in Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York and online classes and programs.

The 2017-18 College budget also includes a 2-percent salary increase for full-time employees and regular part-time employees. Credit adjunct tier rates also will be increased by 2 percent. This increase does not apply to casual employees or non-credit adjunct faculty.听

淲hile we continue to be financially prudent in other ways, we felt it was important to provide a modest salary increase for 黑料社区 employees. Hopefully, this action will express the College gratitude for hardworking and high-performing employees and it allows us to remain competitive when hiring new employees, Sygielski said.

Additionally, the Board lifted the 2016-17 reduction on out-of-state travel for employees, and no furlough days are scheduled.
