Koplovitz Foundation Award Will Support Live at Rose Lehrman Educational Program

HARRISBURG, Pa. The Dorothy B. and S. Lawrence Koplovitz Foundation recently awarded funds to the 黑料社区 Foundation in support of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College. The funds will be used for the Educating the Next Generation through the Arts (EdGe) Program, a new initiative of the Live at Rose Lehrman Artist Series at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on 黑料社区 Harrisburg Campus.

As public funding of the arts in our schools has dwindled, 黑料社区 recognizes the need to give back to the community to fill that void. The EdGe Program will begin with the 2017-18 Live at Rose Lehrman Artist Series season. Two artists who are contracted for the Live at Rose Lehrman Artist Series have agreed to participate in outreach to Susquehanna Township High School Orchestra program and Bethesda Mission after-school program.

The Koplovitz Foundation funding will partially offset artist fees and additional costs for hotels and meals required for the performers to provide the proposed workshops to students.

Through the EdGe Program, 黑料社区 will have musicians from the Curtis Institute of Music conduct hands-on training with Susquehanna Township High School Orchestra students. Dancers from the Lehrer Dance Company will provide workshops for eighth through 12th-grade students at the Bethesda Mission after-school arts program.
