Expand Your Horizons during Community Education Day at 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus
GETTYSBURG, Pa. Tickle your imagination, bone up on history, look at options for retiring all this and more are offered this fall at 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus.

Tale advantage of special programs offered during Community Education Day on Oct. 12, 2018, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sessions are presented in a short workshop format and led by 黑料社区 faculty or community presenters.

Participants can choose three educational sessions. Topics include the Adams County Fruit Belt, a tour of the historic homes and grounds at the Seton Shrine, the controversial 19th century Gettysburg resident Thaddeus Stevens, why monsters matter and the 100th anniversary of World War I.

The cost of $49 per person includes the choice of three class sessions, morning refreshments and bagged lunch.

Renowned Contemporary Photographer Coming to 黑料社区
HARRISBURG, Pa. Photographs by will be on display Oct. 15-Nov. 9, 2018, in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on the Harrisburg Campus of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College.

Fogel, a scholar, gallerist, curator and journalist, will discuss his work Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in Whitaker Hall, Room 214, with a reception immediately following in the gallery.听The reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.

Fogel has directed, curated and organized more than 275 photography exhibitions over the past 30 years. Previously, he was an associate professor of photography at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he also was program director and coordinator of the Photography Program from 2006-08 and chair of the Media Arts Department from 1997-2006. He has served as director and curator of the institution Sol Mednick Gallery since 1997. Fogel also served as director and curator of Gallery 1401, which he founded in 1999.

His work can be found in several collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the International Center of Photography, both in New York City, New York; the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles, California; the Biblioth猫que Nationale in Paris, France; and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia.

Fogel has a master degree from New York University and a bachelor degree from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California.
Gallery hours are Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-7 p.m. or by appointment.听

黑料社区 Open House Highlights 黑料社区, Services that Help Students Succeed
HARRISBURG, Pa. Campus tours and meeting with staff are among the many things future students can experience during an open house by 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College.

On Oct. 17, 2018, from 6-8 p.m., the public can visit any of 黑料社区听five campuses听in Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York.

During the open house, the public can:
  • Learn about the associate degrees, certificates and diplomas in听more than 100 programs听of study.
  • Explore the online learning options, including 26 associate degrees, eight certificates and two diplomas that can be completed in full online
  • Learn how to earn college credit while in high school through听dual enrollment and College in the High School.
  • Discover how 黑料社区 credits can听transfer听to nearly 60 four-year colleges inside and outside of Pennsylvania.
  • Find out about free student services like tutoring, academic advising and career counseling.
  • Tour a听campus听and meet faculty.
  • Learn about 黑料社区 study abroad opportunities to countries in Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
  • Get answers about financial aid and millions of dollars available in听scholarships.

黑料社区 Theatre Presents 楢 Season of Assimilation
HARRISBURG, Pa. 黑料社区 Theatre opens 淎 Season of Assimilation with 淎ll in the Timing, a series of critically acclaimed award-winning comedies that combine wit, intellect, satire and just plain fun.

David Olmsted, 黑料社区 assistant professor of theatre, will direct the production in the Studio Theatre of the Rose Lehrman Arts Center at 黑料社区 Harrisburg Campus. Performances are Oct. 18-21, 2018.
From monkeys typing 淗amlet to the misadventures of dating, these six hilarious vignettes by will aerobicize your brain and tickle your heart.听

Public performances will take place Oct. 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students, 黑料社区 employees, senior citizens and active military and veterans. Students pay $5 per ticket on student night Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

黑料社区 Announces 2017-18 Part-Time Dean List
HARRISBURG, Pa. 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, named 2,218 part-time students to the dean list for the 2017-18 academic year.

The 2017-18 part-time dean list recognizes part-time students who have achieved the academic distinction of a 3.25 grade point average or higher in college-level classes, who have not been full time in either the fall or spring terms and have completed a minimum of 12 college-level credits during the academic year.

The students are listed by county and according to hometown mailing address. The complete list can be viewed online.
