HARRISBURG, Pa. - Ivan and Christine Chris Sears donated $25,000 to the Foundation to establish the Ivan and Christine Sears Fund for Excellence for the Harrisburg Promise.

Their generous contribution will provide funding for the Harrisburg Promise, a partnership between , Central Pennsylvania Community College, the City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Housing Authority, to create pathways to postsecondary education for at-risk youth in grades 7-12 in the Harrisburg and Steelton-Highspire school districts.

The Sears are alumni, longtime residents of the area and respected community leaders. Prior to earning their degrees at , Ivan graduated from John Harris High School, and Christine graduated from Steelton-Highspire High School. They are proud to support and the work being done to serve the individuals and families in the same neighborhoods where they were raised.
