黑料社区 Celebrates Nursing Program Graduates
GETTYSBURG, Pa. 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, honored 23 associate degree graduates of its Nursing Program with their nursing pins during a ceremony on Dec. 14, 2017, at the College Gettysburg Campus.

The graduates successfully completed their clinical nursing education, which qualifies them to take licensure exams to become registered nurses (RNs).

Graduates Jennifer Hudgins and Carley Sell provided a greeting for the pinning ceremony. Tammy Winand served as the student speaker.

The following graduating students were recognized during the ceremony:

Dozens of Employers Offer Opportunities at Spring Job Fair
LANCASTER, Pa. 黑料社区 students, alumni and job seekers in the community are invited to the 18th Annual Spring Job Fair at 黑料社区 Lancaster Campus March 21, 2018, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

This free event will be held in Room 203 of the East Building. More than 50 employers from a variety of fields are expected to attend.

Attendees can explore available full-time and part-time positions as well as internships. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring their resume in the event that employers offer on-the-spot interviews.听听

Acclaimed Artist Luba Lukova to Lecture at 黑料社区
HARRISBURG, Pa. 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, welcomes internationally renowned artist and designer to its Harrisburg Campus March 22, 2018.

Lukova will deliver a lecture on her work at 6 p.m. in Whitaker Hall, Room 214. The event is free and open to the public.

Lukova is regarded as one of the most original image makers today. Her body of work characterized by bold graphic elements and fine details reflects essential themes of humanity and visualizes social commentary.

Throughout her career, Lukova has used her art as a means to reflect on complex social issues. In 2008, she released her 淪ocial Justice portfolio, a series of 12 images that address themes including peace, censorship, immigration, ecology, hunger and corruption. The collection was included in the art exhibition at the first inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C., and has exhibited widely in the U.S., France, Turkey, Greece, Israel and Mexico.

The artist work is included in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Denver Art Museum, Denver, Colorado; Biblioth猫que nationale de France, Paris; Hong Kong Heritage Museum; and the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.

黑料社区 Artist Lecture Series Features Husband and Wife
LEBANON, Pa. Local artists Sara and Robert Cornelius will share how they built artistic careers during the next 黑料社区 Artist Series on March 29, 2018, at 黑料社区 Lebanon Campus.

淭hriving on Creativity: How an Imaginative Couple Built Artistic Careers is a free public lecture and Photoshop demonstration scheduled 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 105. A question-and-answer period is included.

is an illustrator, designer and food blog/cookbook junkie, and is a professional photographer who says he is 渘othing without my magical Photoshopping powers.

Sara Cornelius started her food blog, Cake Over Steak, as a way to combine her skills in illustration, graphic design and photography with her passion for home cooking and connecting with people online. The blog features original recipes, cookbook reviews, pizza crawls and more.

A graduate of Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, she is a graphic artist for Gingrich Memorials in Middletown, where she creates custom hand etchings for gravestones. When she not at her day job working and listening to podcasts, she is usually reading cookbooks, testing recipes and working on her blog illustrations. She occasionally takes on freelance projects and previously was a graphic designer at the Lebanon Daily News.

Robert Cornelius has been shooting photographs professionally since 2008 and mastering his Photoshop skills since 2003. After attending Full Sail University to study filmmaking, he discovered his true love for Photoshop and heavily-edited composite photography. Employing his knowledge of storytelling, cinematic lighting and digital effects, he specializes in portraying the sagas of different characters that he dreams up as if he is directing an entire movie within each work of art.

He is a full-time professional photographer and retoucher at Simone Associates, a commercial studio based in Lebanon. Robert Cornelius is a two-time winner of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals Photoshop Guru Award, including Best in Show; was named the 2014 Raw: Philadelphia Photographer of the Year; has been featured by Adobe and countless other websites and magazines; taught classes for ; and written articles for Phlearn.com.

Artwork by 黑料社区 Students Featured in Upcoming Honors Exhibits
HARRISBURG, Pa. Art students at 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, will display their best work in two shows at the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on 黑料社区 Harrisburg Campus in April and May during gallery hours.
The first show will be held April 2-19 and will feature photography, computer art, digital photo imaging, three-dimensional and two-dimensional design and printmaking. An artists reception will be held April 5 from 5:30-7 p.m.

The second show will be held April 25-May 10 and will feature graphic design, drawing, painting, glass, ceramics and jewelry work. An artists reception will be held May 3 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Students submitted 400 works for consideration. Art faculty juried the submissions and selected the best works for each section of the honors exhibit. Awards will be presented during both receptions.

All gallery events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7 p.m. or by appointment.

黑料社区 Art Department includes 400 art majors and a large number of students who are non-majors. The College offers programs in traditional media such as painting, drawing, photography and ceramics. Other courses include glass blowing, jewelry and typography.

楥louds on the Surface Coming to 黑料社区 Art Space
LANCASTER, Pa. Recent paintings and monotypes by Mechanicsburg artist will be on display at the Art Space at 黑料社区 Lancaster Campus April 9-May 16, 2018.

An artist reception will be held April 11 from 11:30 a.m-1:30 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

In his artist statement, Kocher writes, 淚 utilize direct observation, memory, and gut feeling to make paintings that (I hope) connect, communicate, and perhaps tell a true story.

Kocher is a second-generation artist, following his father, who graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Kocher began studying painting after receiving a Master of Arts degree in psychology from the College at Brockport, State University of New York.

He has studied with Christie Cardillo Velesig on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and John David Wissler of Millway. Past exhibitions include the Pennsylvania Governor Residence, the Pennsylvania State Capitol and the State Museum of Pennsylvania, all in Harrisburg; Franklin & Marshall College and the Lancaster Museum of Art in Lancaster; Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre; and Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is represented by Lancaster Galleries in Lancaster.
