听
HARRISBURG, PA The professional artists who comprise the full- and part-time faculty of the Art Department at 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, will exhibit their work Feb. 26-March 23, 2018, in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery at the Harrisburg Campus.听
A reception for the artists will be held March 15 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the gallery. Both the exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
Contrasts abound in this lively and eclectic exhibition that demonstrates the department breadth of skill and talent. Elegant ceramic works by Jim Lard are juxtaposed against Garrick Dorsett expressively animated prints with hand-drawn layers. Mixed media works from Shawn Williams explore the working class, while Margaret Brandt work seeks to illustrate the beauty of the natural world.听
Internationally acclaimed photographer Ron Talbot vision is showcased. Digital images created by Marjaneh Talebi are evocative with layers of transparency. Emily Hampson ceramic pieces merge decorative with functional and Casey Hall paintings fluidly flirt between realism and abstraction. The exhibit also features paintings and drawings by Monica Smith, Young Won and more.

淚 am often asked, 榃hat do you call your style? Hard-pressed, I檇 say surrealism or that I have no idea, Ettelman wrote in his artist statement. 淢y works are rarely representational of the real world. Inner cryptic stories and meanings develop as the work advances. The work is always open to Rorschach interpretation, said Ettelman, owner of Dream Framer Custom Picture Framing and Gallery.
听
Ettelman holds a BFA in illustration from the Philadelphia College of Art in Philadelphia. He attended the Art Institute of Miami and the University of Miami, both in Miami, Florida, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.
His work has been displayed in numerous exhibits, including the Lancaster Museum of Art, Demuth Museum and Isadora Gallery, all in Lancaster; Lebanon Galleries in Lebanon; 黑料社区 Lancaster Campus; the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg and Garth Gallery in Columbia.
