黑料社区 Culinary Team Competes Nationally
HARRISBURG, Pa. Three 黑料社区 students are competing today, Aug. 7, 2019, in the Baron H. Galand Culinary Knowledge Bowl at the American Culinary Federation National Convention in Orlando, Florida.
听
Faith Brenneman, Julie Marolf and Anna Smith in February, earning them a place in the national competition for the first time in the College history. Only four teams qualify to compete at the national level. In the 淛eopardy-style competition, the team answers questions about nutrition, baking, culinary math, safety and sanitation and the art of classical and modern cooking.
听
The team is coached by 黑料社区 alumna Chef Autumn Patti, director of 黑料社区 Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts 黑料社区.

听 Artistic Expressions Grace the Halls of 黑料社区 Gettysburg Campus
GETTYSBURG, Pa. Community members are invited to the Gettysburg Campus of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, to expand their creative horizons and enjoy the work of four regional artists throughout the 2019-20 academic year.

Meghan Riordan, a self-taught artist and Gettysburg native, opens the campus artist series on Aug. 19, 2019, with her illustrations in ink, watercolor and art marker. Riordan is a nature lover who draws inspiration from hiking in Pennsylvania and Maryland. She is an alumna of 黑料社区 and Mount St. Mary University.听

Beginning Oct. 21, the campus art gallery hallway will feature oil paintings by Ed Wargo. Although Wargo professional career was in the healthcare field, he has fostered a lifelong passion for art. His impressionistic paintings depict uncommon views and perspectives of things that may go unnoticed.
听
Five artists from the will exhibit paintings, pastels and painted beginning Jan. 10, 2020. The list of artists includes Jerry Gadd, Sandy Gilpin, Kirby Heltebridle, Mary Moores and Felicity Sidwell.听
听
On March 16, the series concludes with work by Wendy Sweigart, a high school art teacher with the Susquehanna Township School District School of the Arts magnet program in Harrisburg. Sweigart holds a master degree in art education from Messiah College, a bachelor degree in art education from Kutztown University and has completed extensive post-baccalaureate studio coursework in drawing, painting and folk art studies.

An artist reception is scheduled for each of the exhibits. All exhibits and receptions are free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be provided.
