HARRISBURG, Pa. On April 6, 2021, the Board of Trustees of 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, adopted a $130-million budget for 2021-22.

The College 2021-22 budget projects a 3% decrease in enrollment and takes into account the continued widespread impacts of the global coronavirus pandemic. The College is projecting a $586,201 revenue shortfall as a result.

淟ike many colleges and universities around the nation, 黑料社区 faces additional enrollment challenges as a result of the unprecedented global pandemic. It is the College responsibility to be disciplined to make these hard decisions to ensure that 黑料社区 is a life-sustaining organization for many years to come, said 黑料社区 President and CEO John J. 淪ki Sygielski.

Tuition

The 2021-22 budget includes a 2% tuition increase for out-of-state, non-sponsored, sponsored, dual enrolled and College in the High School students. This 2% increase will result in 黑料社区 students paying an additional $1.50 to $5.25 per credit, depending on their student type. On average, a full-time non-sponsored student will see a tuition increase of $54. This increase in tuition will generate a revenue of $1,122,586 for the College.

淎 tuition increase is the last option to consider when creating a viable budget. We continue to seek ways to ensure our students complete their education with us, we will continue to offer cost-saving measures, including scholarships and tuition giveaways, added Sygielski.

贬础颁颁 tuition for a full-time student is approximately 30% less than the average full-time tuition at nearby four-year institutions.

Cost-Saving Measures

The 2021-22 budget includes several cost-saving measures totaling approximately $1 million, including reduced meeting and travel expenses, bad debt expenses, utilities and several additional smaller expense categories.

The College will remain fiscally responsible and seek alternative cost-saving measures throughout the fiscal year.

Employee Benefits

The College will provide a 2% salary increase for all full- and part-time regular employees. Adjunct faculty will receive the same increase in their hourly rate. The salary increases will go into effect on July 4, 2021. 黑料社区 spends approximately three of every four dollars on total compensation and benefits when compared to total expenses.

Sygielski said, 淲e value our employees and the work they have done to adapt and transition to working from home over the past year as a result of the coronavirus. We are delighted that the Board supported our request for another salary increase for our employees, the second this year.

黑料社区 Foundation Funding

To date in 2020-21, the 黑料社区 Foundation, the nonprofit organization established to raise funds for 黑料社区, awarded more than $854,000 in scholarships and tuition giveaways to 黑料社区 students. To continue these efforts, the 黑料社区 Foundation is offering continuing and future students the opportunity to earn to cover tuition and fees.

The 黑料社区 Foundation provides millions of dollars in funding for student scholarships, innovative academic programs, state-of-the art training equipment and modernized facilities. To learn more, please visit听.
