黑料社区 Awards Five Full-Ride Scholarships to Honors Program Students

Oct. 21, 2021
HARRISBURG, Pa. 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, recently awarded five full-ride scholarships to students enrolled in 黑料社区 Honors Program.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants were required to graduate from high school in 2020 or 2021 with one of the following: a GPA of at least 3.5, top 20% of class, 1150 SAT (reading and math) or an ACT composite score of 24.

They also were required to apply and be accepted into 黑料社区 Honors Program. Recipients were randomly selected and are required to participate in the program through their graduation from 黑料社区.

The winners are:
  • Emma Daron
  • Kaelyn Kennedy
  • Anya McGlaughlin
  • Morgan Mickle
  • Alexandra Stauffer

When asked for the first thing that came to mind when recipients learned they received the full-ride scholarships provided by the 黑料社区 Foundation, the students responded:
  • Daron, of Gardners,听said, 淚 was honestly really excited, and a bit relieved. Though 黑料社区 tuition fees are a lot cheaper than most, I was still worried about it. I was also really honored that I was one of the few chosen to receive it.
  • Kennedy, of New Oxford,听said, 淚 was really shocked to find out I had received the full-ride scholarship, but definitely grateful. It was a relief to know I could further my education without the burden of finances getting in the way
  • McGlaughin, of New Freedom, said, 淚 didn believe it at first I told my mom and we had to make sure it was real before we started celebrating. It was hard to process that I received the full-scholarship but I was happy that I was chosen.
  • Mickle, of Carlisle, said, 淲hen I first learned that I had received the scholarship, I actually thought 黑料社区 sent me the email by mistake. I was so excited when the rush of denial was over that I could have my first few years of school paid for. For me, this meant I could keep working throughout school and save up money for my bachelor's degree and graduate school.
  • Stauffer, of Mount Joy, said, 淎t first, I was pleasantly surprised. Perhaps I had merit after all. Then I started to question whether or not I was worthy of accepting the scholarship. It took me a few days to process what this opportunity meant and why it would be an insanely poor choice not to accept.
