黑料社区 Increases Capacity for Massage Therapy Training
HARRISBURG, Pa. The Massage Therapy Program at 黑料社区, Central Pennsylvania Community College, recently celebrated 15 years of excellence in massage therapy training and the opening of renovated and expanded facilities for future massage therapists.

John J. 淪ki Sygielski, MBA, Ed.D., 黑料社区 president and CEO, cut the ribbon for the facilities alongside Susan Biggs, executive director of healthcare education at 黑料社区; Nina Kottcamp, LMT, coordinator of holistic health and wellness programs at 黑料社区; Ryan Unger, Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC president and CEO; and the Honorable Wanda R.D. Williams, Mayor of the City of Harrisburg.

淢assage therapists are recognized as high-priority occupations in Pennsylvania, and 黑料社区 Massage Therapy Program is one of the only accredited programs in our region. We are proud to continue offering exceptional training to help meet the demand for these skilled workers, said Sygielski.

The renovated space at the College Harrisburg Campus allows the program to grow from 18 to 30 students. It will be used for instruction and as part of the program . Students are required to complete a minimum of 50 supervised massages in the studio in addition to assigned classroom hours.

During the ribbon cutting event on Aug. 17, Kottcamp shared that 98% of massage therapy graduates pass the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx), which is required for licensure in Pennsylvania. More than 400 students have graduated from the program since 2007.
